More Construction Along The River

It seems like one thing leads to another and construction is not exempt from this trait.

For those familiar with the Mankato, MN area, for years the Mankato Lutheran Home was a fixture along the Minnesota River. But, it had seen better days as a senior citizen nursing home and it would be too expensive to renovate. The new digs look good and a very nice place to live when that time comes.

Just across the street is Sibley Park...another area rich with history. At one time they had horse racing and a zoo complete with Lions, Tigers and Bears...Oh My!

The zoo was flooded out years ago and the horse racing is no more. Now there is a children's petting zoo and horse carriage rides on the weekends. It is a beautiful park with many weddings held there each summer.

Thanks for taking this tour with us. Coming soon...Sue and her snake experience. Don't miss it.

Tune in again for another edition of "Now What Are They Doing?"
