Foxes Invade Coyote Ridge

The past two mornings we have had the pleasure of watching some foxes hunting for food here at Coyote Ridge.
I know they are serious about hunting, but we get the biggest charge when they leap into the air an pounce on their prey.
I was able to get a few pictures for you. They are not the best quality as I was shooting through a window and screen...but you will get the general idea.
Feel free to click on the image for a larger picture.

There is always something to be seen out here at Coyote Ridge...you just have to be looking at the right time.

Foxes are extremely intelligent and use tactics similar to a wolf, I used to enjoy watching them in what used to be a farm field behind our house before it was subdivided and built on, they would really put on a show whether playing or hunting. Now that they and the hawks are gone, we are overrun with rabbits and squirrels, never saw a squirrel before the houses came. Foxes love the prairie lands like our area was and we always had a big population, luckily we still have filed a few miles away so they didn't have to migrate far.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

They really are beautiful animals. The picture are good, especially taken through a window and screen.
