This is Cool

Every once and a while I get something via email that I like to pass along.

Follow the link below to test how observant you are about every day things.

I did the quick test and ended up getting twenty of them correct. Check it out!

More Pictures and Weird Grave

Recently we camped in Western Minnesota near the South Dakota border.
We went geocaching near Cottonwood,Mn and found this beautiful lake, right in the middle of town.

Sometimes a person just needs a few more arms and hands. I was trying to control two dogs who wanted to go opposite directions while I was trying to follow the directions on my handheld GPS unit.

Shortly after that picture was taken, I had to be cut free from the tangled lines from the crazy dogs!

Now for the part out the weird graves.

One of the geocaches we were hunting for said the location was near a lake and was located at the private site where they buried their beloved dog. That seemed normal enough. With a little looking in the woods near the waters edge, we found the dog's grave.

Now the weird begins. Just a few feet from the dog's grave we found another grave site, or what appeared to be a grave site. This one was for a child.

I sure hope it was a memorial as opposed to an actual grave. I always thought humans had to be buried in approved graveyards.

In reality, it was a very peaceful site, so why not?

This and That

I find it interesting going through the memory card on the camera. At the time the pictures were taken the subject matter appeared to be important or exciting. When I look back at the pictures I sometimes have to ask myself why.

Anyway, here are a few more recently discovered pictures....
My perfect dog Lucy...

Sue's dog, Bad Betty...the nervous one....

Me finding a "micro cache"...35mm film container....

Recently we camped at Camden State Park near Marshall,Minnesota and we took a few pictures of the surroundings...

And a couple of sunset pictures from our site.......

We enjoy many things about camping, especially cooking. While we have all the conveniences of home in the camper, we enjoy cooking outside....

There is a lot to be said about camp cooking and just to keep with the outdoor theme, why not cook outside?

Deer In Garden

While I was on a business trip to Washington,DC last week some deer decided to make themselves at home in the yard and garden.
This one apparentlty felt right at home while Sue snapped it's picture through the kitchen window.

Of course, where there is one deer, there are always more.....

I do enjoy looking at deer, but not in the garden!

Family Visit

The July 4th weekend we were blessed with family from Des Moines coming up for a visit.
Mom, Dad, my brother Paul, his wife Margaret, their daughter Emily, her husband David and their daughter Halie made the trek north. Son Ben and his wife Anna also spent the better part of the weekend here also.
I do have a few pictures for you. This is one of my mom and Halie cuddled up after a busy day.

While everyone was here we went to the children's petting zoo at Sibley park. They had everything from cows to ponies. They even had a few alpaca.

Needless to say, we had lots of good food and cold beer. Somewhere on my camera I have more pictures. As soon as I find them I will post a few more.

It Has Been A While!

I can't believe that it has been over two weeks since I posted to the blog. I will be making up for lost time with a few pictures and words.
The will be no particular order to the events, just random events and my usual blabbering.

Recently we broke away for a few hours to go geocaching in some areas where we had never been before. We looked for six and came up with four of them.

This one was cleverly hidden in a tree.

We found another very small cache (film canister) hidden at the base of a sign on a bike trail.

One of the best parts about geocaching is the scenery that one discovers along the way.

How about these flowers?

Another great day in the the wonderful Minnesota summer weather.
