Jeffers Petroglyphs

This past Wednesday we had the day off and did one of our impromptu road trips. On several motorcycle rides we had driven by the Jeffers Petroglyphs and never stopped. This day we did.

Sue took a picture of this sign that gives a brief history of what we were about to experience.

The building was closed but the walking trails were open so we could explore the area that was so rich in history.

This LINK will provide you with some great history and video of the area.

Here is another site that does a great job explaining the rich history.

It is humbling to think that these Native Americans lived here and had done these rock carvings long before the pyramids were built.
