I Was Able To get To The RV

Ah, a sure sign of Spring. I was able to get to the camper on Sunday. Enough snow had melted enabling me to open the door to the camper and poke around for a while.
I had been hearing a beep coming from that direction for the past few weeks and figured it was a low battery warning for the smoke detector or the carbon monoxide detector. It was the later of the two, but both devices are now at full strength .
Everything else in the rig looked pretty good. I will know for sure when I am able to drain out the antifreeze from the water lines and fire up the appliances.

Can you tell I am getting Spring Fever?

You never know what you will find after putting something like an RV to bed for at least five months. Any one of a number of problems can crop up.

Speaking of problems....how about these "issues"?

I can only imagine some of the choice words uttered or screamed during those "events"!

Let the Warm Up Begin!

The temperatures here at Coyote Ridge have been reaching the upper 30's most every day for about the past week. Slowly, the snow piles are getting smaller...but not fast enough. We are hoping for some mid 40 degree weather so we can get rid of the stuff before the Spring rains arrive.
Timing of the snow melt is important so that we can lessen the chances of flooding.

Here is a little number game that was sent to me. It was very cool and accurate. I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for stopping in! Bob

Find out who truly is your role model - mine was Mother Theresa.

DON'T SCROLL DOWN YET!!

FIRST, do the simple math below.

THEN, scroll down to find your hero.

It is truly remarkable just how accurate this is!

1) Pick your favorite number between 1 and 8
2) Multiply your choice by 3
3) Add 3
4) Multiply again by 3
5) You'll get a 2 digit number......maybe 42, for example
6) Add the digits together. Example 4 and 2 = 6

Now Scroll down.
With that number, see who your ROLE MODEL is from the list below:

1. Albert Einstein
2. Oprah Winfrey
3. Mother Theresa
4. Ronald Reagan
5. Bill Gates
6. Gandhi
7. Eleanor Roosevelt
8. Babe Ruth
9. BOB
10.Winston Churchill
11.Barbara Walters
12.Dalai Lama

Fun with numbers!

Could Spring Be Near?

The weather here at Coyote Ridge has taken a turn for the better this week. We have had three days above the freezing mark with more in the forecast.
Spring flooding is a real possibility, especially if we get more snow, heavy rain or a rapid snow melt. Time will tell.

Someone sent this to me the other day and I just had to pass it along to you.

Summer is Coming....Maybe!

Yup.....a sure sign of Summer. We can see the deer again here at Coyote Ridge.

Like so many areas of the country, we have had a long, tough winter with more than enough snow and cold. We realize we live in Minnesota, but at times we think we have been transplanted to Siberia.

Only In Minne-Sota

Every state in this fine country we call home seems to have it's own set of un-written rules or quirks, if you will.

Here in Minnesota, we have our own very specific set of rules that must be adhered to.

YOU ARE FROM RURAL MINNESOTA IF....

You know it is traditional for the bride and groom to go bar hopping between the ceremony and the reception.

You know how to polka, but never tried it sober.

You know what knee-high by the Fourth of July means.

You were delighted to get a miniature snow shovel for your 3rd birthday.

You can recognize someone from Iowa by their driving.

You buy Christmas presents at Fleet Farm.

You spent more on beer than you did on food at your wedding.

You hear someone use the word 'oof-dah' and you do not immediately break into uncontrollable laughter.

You think fast food is hitting a deer at 65 mph.

You or someone you know was a 'Dairy Princess' at a county fair

You let your older siblings talk you into putting your tongue on a steel post in the middle of winter.

You think Lutheran and Catholic are THE major religions.

Football, Deer Hunting & Opening Fishing schedules are checked before wedding dates are set.

Saturday you go to the local bowling alley.

There was at least one kid in your class who had to help milk cows in the morning.

You have driven your car on a lake.

You can make sense out of the word 'upnort' and 'battree. '

You always believed that vacation meant 'going up North.'

At every wedding you have been to you have had to dance the hokey poky and the chicken dance.

Your definition of a small town is one that only has one bar

The local gas station sells live bait.

At least twice a year, the kitchen doubles as a meat processing plant.

Your mom asks, 'Were you born in a barn?' and you know exactly what she means.

You think that the start of deer season is a national holiday.

Pop is not only what you call your dad, but is the ONLY name for soda.

You bettcha!
