We Are In Pennsylvania

We are in Ebensburg,PA tonight after visiting Johnstown and Ferndale,PA earlier today. We are off to supper now then off to Patton,PA tomorrow.
All is going well and we are having a blast.
I was worried earlier today when we saw a sign in West Virginia saying "For sale...Far wood". So far I have not heard banjos playing!
More later.

Andy's Band

Our youngest son Andy and his band have returned to Seattle from a successful tour. Playing in Olympia, WA, San Fransisco, Oakland, San Jose and Sacramento, CA.
By all reports, they had a fabulous time with great crowds and CD sales. I also understand that there were no arrests.

Their latest CD release is coming up soon. We received an early copy and we were impressed.

Soon, I will post a link to their website so you can listen to some of the cuts.

We Are In Illinois

Great day of driving today. We saw some beautiful country as we followed the Mississippi River for several hours. We took our time and traveled about 500 miles ending up in Morris, IL...near Chicago.
I will try to post pictures tomorrow.

On The Road

The time is here....we are packed and in the process of taking off. We want to hit the road so I snapped a quick picture for you to enjoy.

I will write more later.

Hitting The Road

Tomorrow is the big day. Sue and I along with her folks Molly and Harv will be on the road heading for parts unknown to the East.
We do have several areas we know we will be visiting. Harv's hometown of Patton,PA. He has many fond memories of there so we thought we would load up their minivan and see what is left of the town. It was a coal mining town at one time with a rich history of heavy drinking and heavy women. I will of course file reports as Internet service allows.
We also plan on visiting Niagara Falls and working our way through part of Canada. We will come back into the states and cross Lake Michigan on a car ferry. That should be cool. The trip is four hours with most of the trip out of land sight. Harv, being a retired Navy man, will be in that big room with the big wheel barking out orders to the crew. Molly pressed his dress uniform so he will be all set to captain the ship. That will be a proud moment for sure.
If he hasn't thrown me overboard by then, I will take some pictures.
Well mates, I had better pack some more as we want to make sure we don't run out of anything. We have a few bags packed already.

I Feel Inspired!

This has been a VERY busy week with work and getting ready to leave on vacation. I received the following pictures from my wife Sue just in the nick of time.
I hope you are also inspired and enjoy the motivation as I did.

As always, Click on the picture for a larger view.

TICK WARNING!

I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it
myself a couple times unintentionally...but this one is real, and it's
important. So please send this warning to everyone on your e- mail
list.

If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking for ticks
due to the warm weather and asks you to take your clothes off and dance
around with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!! THIS IS A SCAM!! They only
want to see you naked.

I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid.

Back From Roughing It

What a trip we had. The weather was fantastic Friday afternoon and Friday night. We saw stars by the millions and perfect temps. Saturday we had rain but that failed to slow us down. We had a big breakfast at a mom and pop dive the hit the rummage sales. We also discovered a neat park to visit next time we are in the area.
Here are a few pictures. As always, you may click on them to enlarge.
